Gum bleeding, never again...

The examination of the gingival margin has stated that many patients often have an unrecognized chronic inflammation. Patients do not notice this disease, because it is painless for them. If you recognize a slight bleeding while doing the domestic dental care this is always a warning signal and you should contact your dentist as soon as possible.

The bleeding is caused by dental plaque around the gingival margin. This dental plaque can be responsible for caries and periodentitis (= inflammation of the gum).

A parodontitis not stopped in time can inflame not only the teeth but also the whole body. Within the last few years long-term studies have shown the effect on an untreated gum inflammation (= gingivitis): in particular the risk of a heart attack or a stroke is 2 to 4 times higher. The risk of a premature birth is even 5 to 8 times higher in comparison to patients without gingivitis. Therefore the recovery and preservation of the parodontium (= jawbone & gum) is also very important for the general conditions of your health.

Exceptional diseases and advanced stages of periodentitis need a more intensive therapy. If the jawbone is affected by the inflammation around the tooth it turns out well to cure it with a coordinated scheme of treatment. The special aspects will be discussed individually. With a diagnosis right in time and a consistent treatment there is a good chance to avoid expensive and time-consuming therapies to restore your health.
